Through faulter and fall

Through ashes and dust,

No matter the cost-

The choice was a must.

Imperialism is like coarse sand.

Through loss of their land-

Through loss of their lives,

Old kingdoms must fall

And New ones shall rise.

Imperialism is like coarse sand.

Was it better this way?

Or did they choose wrong?

No, it mattered not-

War still sang its song.

Imperialism is like coarse sand.

No money ran dry-

Yes, Economies sweet as honey

Still, the diffusion of culture

Was anything but funny.

Imperialism is like coarse sand.

The price that was paid

Still affects them today-

Trying so hard

Can’t take pain away.

Imperialism is likeĀ coarse sand-

It once was damp and kind.
