Dorothy,
Tell me of the storm
That took you far away.
Yes,
Tell me of the Wind-
Could it blow my way?
Befriend yourself a Tin Man;
Without a heart to beat.
But wouldn’t the Heartless Tin Man
Kill you in your sleep?
Poppy fields surround you,
The Lion cowers away
No shoes,
No rainbow-
Nothing
But Munchkins in dismay.
The Scarecrow-
Ever thoughtless-
Knows nothing of your past.
So tell me,
How long can this Dreamworld-
This Nightmare-
Ever really last?
There’s no Glinda here to save you;
Wicked Witch is at your tail;
Oz-Not-So-Great-Or-Powerful-
His story’s just a fail.
Toto scampers
Oh, so helpless
Desiring to help you with your cause,
But he’s not one to save you,
He has no sharpened claws.
Dorothy,
Tell me of the storm
That took you far away.
Tell Auntie Em your troubles,
For I know what to say.
